Spring Outfits 2014 – Lightening Up

Spring Outfits 2014

Spring is here! Or at least it is in California My apologies to those of you still feeling the effects of the harsh winter storms we had this year. With the change in weather, comes a change in wardrobe. It’s time for me to put away my sweaters and pop out the warm weather clothing. Here come the summer dresses, cropped pants, shorts and tank tops. Goodbye boots and hello sandals. Light, bright colors are my favorite to reintroduce. I especially love wearing white during the early parts of spring. My wardrobe during the winter is usually full of neutrals Read More →

Trader Joe’s: Beauty Edition

Trader Joe’s is hands down my favorite store. I shop at TJ’s on a weekly basis and buy nearly all of my food there.  For those unfamiliar with the name, Trader Joe’s is a specialty grocery chain focusing on unique gourmet and organic health foods. I love the uncommon foods available there, as well as their wine and flower selection. I also enjoy reading the flyer they release perhaps once a month or so (I don’t keep track), in which they feature new and old products. While it doesn’t really make me want to purchase anything… okay maybe a little Read More →

My 2014 Book List

Books to Read 2014

I have compiled a list of books that I want to read, or listen to, over the coming year. I like to listen to books when I’m doing mind numbing work or driving. However, I find that I retain information better when I read, as opposed to listen. I also enjoy imagining the voices for different characters. Although I must admit, there are a few audiobook narrators that are very talented. I especially enjoy Jim Dale, he narrated all of the Harry Potter books, among others. Dale changes his voice for every character and reads with true emotion. He captivates Read More →

December 2013 Favorites

December Favorites 2013

I have been absent from blogging for over a week due to my attempt at jump starting one of my New Year’s resolutions. I’ve fully immersed myself in it and put many other things aside. Although building my blog was also one of my resolutions… fail. Getting back into the groove I bring to you, my December favorites. I’ve decided to skip the New Year’s Resolution post, I’m late to the party anyway and many of mine are “classified.” I’m a secret agent shh… Makeup             Rose gold was my go-to color this December. Christmas 2013

Christmas Vacation

I’ve taken a break from blogging this past week to truly enjoy my Christmas vacation. This is my first Christmas vacation in nearly 8 years, and I wanted to make the most of it. I’ve spent my time hanging out with family and friends, shopping, taking a trip to the movies to see 47 Ronin (good film), a short date night with the boyfriend and lounging around in my pjs and new robe bum style. I hope everyone has had an enjoyable holiday and look forward to the coming New Year. Here are a few pictures from my Christmas vacation Read More →

A Festivus for the Rest of Us

A Festivus For the Rest Of Us

It has become tradition in my home to celebrate Festivus each holiday season. Festivus is a sort of parody secular holiday that gained popularity after being featured on an episode of Seinfeld. Any die hard Seinfeld fan will remember that episode well, it’s on my list of top ten favorite Seinfeld Episodes. However, contrary to popular belief Festivus was not purely a product of the writers’ room. Oh how I’d love to have been a fly on the wall in that room. Festivus was originally a family tradition celebrated by Seinfeld scriptwriter Dan O’Keefe (source). Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd, due to time constraints my friends (Including zozo) and Read More →

I received five full sized samples from, Nicka K New York Nail Color, J.Cat Beauty, Pop Beauty, Be a Bombshell and Ardell. Nicka K New York Nail Color: Classic Taupe Nicka polish is DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free. The Classic Taupe color I received is a very nice Read More →

Elf Inspired Pedicure and Santa Hat Nail Art Manicure

Over the weekend, I watched ELF, one of my favorite Christmas movies and was inspired to create this mani/pedi combo. On my fingers I created a Santa hat manicure and for my toesies an ELF inspired pedicure. I have seen quite a few Santa hat manicures floating around lately, but I feel like having Santa hats on every nail is a bit visually overwhelming. I opted for a mixed manicure adding 3 glitter nails and using my Santa hat designs as accents. Christmas Cheer

Best way to Spread Christmas Cheery Buddy the Elf

It’s Christmas time, yet aside from putting up my tree and decorations I feel as though I haven’t really been able to enjoy the season. You know… fully immerse myself in Christmas movies, cookies and holiday music. I’ve been very busy with work and trying to get the hang of this whole blogging thing and haven’t gotten to do any of my Holiday Season traditions. This weekend I set out to change that. I gave myself the weekend off from blogging, grabbed a stack of my favorite Christmas films, blasted the Christmas music, gave myself a festive mani and pedi, Read More →
